A storm system dumping heavy rain in southern Texas will take the form of a springtime storm as it spreads across the Gulf Coast and into the Southeast, bringing wind-driven rain and severe thunderstorms later today. Flash flooding will remain the main threat in the Southeast, however, gusty storms will develop along the Gulf Coast later today.
Flash Flood Watches are in effect from southern Louisiana to southwestern Georgia and Florida`s panhandle in anticipation of heavy rainfall arriving later today.
